BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Began January 1964 as a field claim representative, Lumber Mutual Insurance Company, Boston, and multi-line adjuster for eastern Massachusetts. January 1966 joined Aetna Life & Casualty in Boston as a Claim Representative; later promoted to Senior Claim Representative, then Supervisor. Was also Branch Training Coordinator, National Accounts Claims Supervisor, and Manager, Aetna Technical Services.

In January 1975 joined Peerless Insurance Company in Waltham, Mass as a Claim Supervisor; promoted in May 1975 to Assistant Regional Claim Manager and in May 1978 promoted to Claim Manager, Portland (Maine) Branch. In March 1980 assumed start-up position of Claim Manager, Penn General Services Corporation, a third-party administrator in self-funded workers' compensation, liability and group health programs. Organized a claim department beginning with self and two others into an operation with systems, three offices in Maine and staff members handling workers' compensation, general and auto liability and group medical claims.

April 1984 formed Ryan Insurance Services, Portland (incorporated 1986), an independent claims office accepting full or partial assignments, reserve audits and reconciliations, handling all lines of insurance with specialties in aviation liability and hull claims, airport and hangarkeepers' coverages, fuel farms and similar risks. Company relocated in 1998 to new quarters at Biddeford Municipal Airport and is now primarily aviation insurance-oriented.

Also serves as Treasurer, RYCO Aviation, Inc., an affiliate company specializing in the recovery, moving and secure storage of aircraft and other items of evidence.
